Compton Community College District Announces

Redistricting Committee Members

 

At the January 17 Board meeting, the Special Trustee for the Compton Community College District (CCCD) appointed five individuals to serve on the Redistricting Committee. The committee is an important part of the CCCD’s overall redistricting process. A recommendation for new trustee area boundaries in will be presented to the Special Trustee at the May 2012 Board meeting. Redistricting Committee members will review and provide input regarding the redistricting proposals.

 

The Redistricting Committee is holding a Public Hearing March 21 in the CCCD Board Room at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Redistricting Action Plan

 

The Compton Community College District (CCCD) recently published its redistricting action plan as part of a public process to review and modify the elected trustee area boundaries.

 

 

 

Proposed Trustee Area Boundaries

 

In September 2011, the CCCD initiated discussions on the process required to modify trustee area boundaries. In November, the District made a public request for applications from those who are interested in serving on the District’s Redistricting Committee.

 

The Special Trustee for the CCCD will schedule additional public hearings in spring 2012, with plans to present a recommendation for new trustee area boundaries in May 2012.
